We met with our host Philippe from Paris who is passionate about cooking and exploring the world. He has traveled to more than 60 countries and loves meeting new people! We asked him about his must-see spots in Paris and what insider travel tips he can give when visiting the City of Lights.
Tell us a bit about yourself: Where are you from, what are you passionate about?
“I love meeting people from all around the world and sharing special travel moments with them. I love my friends and I am an epicurean from head to toe! I love great food and Eatwith is a way to express myself. My husband and I live in an outstanding neighborhood in Paris, in the 4th arrondisement, very close to the Île Saint Louis. I love to take my dog for a walk or simply wander around and admire Paris!”
We are passionate about food! Paris is full of culinary adventures to be had, from tasting traditional French specialities to discovering a French dinner with a twist!
What is your perfect plan for a sunny day in Paris?
“When it’s sunny, I like to go for a walk towards the Île Saint Louis. We also like the area around Notre Dame so much.”
Want to experience the seasons in Paris? We have so many authentic food experiences just waiting to be discovered!
What do you like to do when the weather is bad in your city?
“When it’s not sunny, we like to stay in our magnificent Parisian apartment. We are lucky to have a beautiful terrace where we love to have a drink and relax.”
For a delicious dinner in Paris, the weather doesn’t have to be perfect for you to have a great time!
What do you like to do with your friends when they come to visit?
“There are so many things to do in Paris, it’s not a coincidence that it is one of the most visited cities in the world! We like to have guests, make great meals at our place and we wait impatiently for new Eatwith guests!”
A lot of locals like to visit the Street Market of Saint Charles. This is the perfect place for a food tour if you’re looking for things to do!
Can you share some traveling tips with us?
“I like to plan my trips at home and collect all the information I can find on the internet or in travel guides first. I then usually rent a car to go to all the places I want to visit.”
What are your 3 favorite travel items?
“My three favorite travel items are my travel guide, my sunglasses and, of course, my credit card!”
What was your favorite journey and why?
“There are a lot of countries that I adore, but I have special memories from Madagascar because of its rich and diverse nature and food. You can have excellent Foie Gras in the southern regions and on the coast you get delicious lobsters almost for nothing!”
Thank you Philippe for sharing your travel moments with us!
