Hello, My name is Mauro and I am the owner and organizer of the tour of Walk about Florence. It would be a pleasure for me to make you discover the best of Florence through my food tours and cooking classes.

Teaching and hosting new people at home is really fun! I come from a long line of passionate food lovers. I grew up in Tuscany, spent several years in Milan and then Matera, South of Italy, and now live in Rome. I have a broad knowledge of the country’s many wonderful and varied dishes.

I became a Chef because cooking and entertaining is an act of love towards others. I believe that there are no strangers, just friends I haven’t met yet. So after I decided to sell our well known and busy Restaurant, I repurposed my passion for hostpitality and gastronomy by organizing dining experiences in a more intimate setting: in my own home!

My name is Tommaso and I work as a chef at the Towns of Italy cooking school, where I will teach you all the secrets of the traditional Italian cuisine. My approach to cooking started when I was still a kid, with my grandmother, who used to manage the kitchen of a hotel for more than twenty years.

I can’t begin to express how wonderful our experience with Patrizia was, from her prompt and courteous communication, to her warmth and generosity, to her skill and passion for cooking and teaching—it was all amazing. She immediately made us feel right at home in her kitchen, patiently and expertly leading us through the pasta-making process with humor and history. Then, we had a sumptuous 5-course meal cooked by her, including the pasta we had made. We were there 5 hours, and the food and atmosphere were glorious. I’m gushing, but it was certainly the highlight of our trip to Florence.
